Converting Existing CLF 2.0 Sites to WET (XHTML or HTML5)

The following assumes that a WET template has already been made.

  1. Apply template to page. All of the necessary "Editable" content of the CLF 2.0 pages should migrate into the corresponding regions of the WET template on their own.
  2. Meta tags have changed, so copy the "sample" meta description from the Template and paste it into the page. NOTE: Do not delete the old meta tags until you have grabbed the "content" information needed for the new ones. Copy the applicable content for "dcterms.title" "dcterms.issued" and "dcterms.modified" into the new meta tags. Delete the old meta tags.
  3. Update the breadcrumb.
  4. Find the anchor with "name="cont" id="cont" in it. Delete the anchor. In the h1 header of the page, add the attribute, id="cn-cont".
  5. Change the date modified.
  6. HTML 5 only: do a search for "acronym" in the Source Code and replace it with "abbr".
  7. HTML 5 only: insert section tags throughout the content as needed.
